North American School Scrabble Championship Lexicon

The NASSC tournament lexicon is the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary, 7th Edition (2023), published by Merriam-Webster Inc. The OSPD7 includes several hundred new words—from BAE to GUAC to SPORK to ZONKEY.

In advance of the tournament, we are thrilled to make available to all NASSC players a version of the indispensable Scrabble study tool The Cheat Sheet based on the OSPD7.

A few important notes:

• The new Cheat Sheet contains the following additions: ACK ARO ATS BAE DOX FAM FAV VAX ARIE DOXX FOLX JEDI VAXX YAJE ZUKE OUTIE

• The following words appeared on previous versions of the Cheat Sheet but are no longer acceptable: FAG FEM GIP GYP SEG

• The following words are not in the print edition of OSPD7 but remain on the Cheat Sheet and are acceptable: CAL SEZ WUZ XED YER YEZ OUTA

• CONVASSE in the print OSPD7 is an error. It has been removed from the lexicon.

• Finally, we've also prepared a one-page sheet of all of the new words in the OSPD7 sorted by length.
